How much will it cost?
Undergraduate tuition is $395/credit hour which includes e-books and a laptop computer. There are no extra fees and technology is included.

How long will it take from start to finish?
CJ (Undergrad & Graduate) and DEM
While completion time varies, the average time to complete the undergraduate Criminal Justice or Disaster and Emergency Management online is 3 years. The average time of completion for the Master’s in Criminal Justice is 20 months.
A student can complete the RN to BSN in 20-24 months.
Why are there specific start dates?
The online programs at Columbia College operate in a cohort. This means that you will start with a group of students and progress through the program with this same group of students. The undergraduate programs have start dates every 5 weeks and graduate students can begin every eight weeks - so you don’t need to wait for the traditional “fall” or “spring” start dates that most universities have.
Do I need to come to campus?
No – the program is completed 100% online. There are no residency requirements.
How will I get my course materials?
Course materials are delivered electronically using ebooks.
Do I have to take exams?
All course work is completed in our learning management system, online. There is no need to travel or establish proctors to complete your examinations.
Do I have to live chat?
We know you are busy. As a result, all work is completed asynchronously (there are no chats). This means that you can spend time working on your assignments at 3am or 3pm – whatever works best for you. While there are due dates, you can establish a schedule that coordinates with your other commitments.
I already have a degree – will my credits transfer?
Many academic and professional credits can transfer. We will make an assessment before you begin the program so that you know what can transfer.
Columbia college will evaluate your nursing education, NCLEX, and your current license to practice nursing for transfer credit. We will make an assessment before you begin the program so that you know what is accepted.
I have been working as a professional for many years – will my experiences and skills be able to earn credit?
CJ (Undergrad & Graduate) and DEM
Columbia College will evaluate all types of transfer credit for the CJ & DEM programs, including previous college work, military classes, training, and academy courses. We will make an assessment before you begin the program so that you know what can transfer.

How many classes will I be taking at a time?
Undergraduate students will take 1 class every five weeks.
Graduate students will take 1 class every eight weeks.
